G20 Korea Concert (eng subs)

The G20 Seoul Summit will be taking place in Seoul, Korea over the next two days (11th – 12th November), and to commemorate the occasion, a G20 Korea Concertwas held two weeks ago on October 28th at Sangam Sunset Park involving popular K-pop acts.

The list of K-pop artists who performed that evening include 2PM, PSY, miss A, MBLAQ, Se7en, Sori, SG Wannabe, and Son Dambi. Although most of us couldn’t be there to support them live, the concert was aired on the evening of November 10th through MBC.

Girls’ Generation the 1st Asia Tour: Into The New World

Girls’ Generation kicked off their first Asia tour Into the New World in Seoul on December 19-20, 2009. The girls followed in 2010 with additional encore concerts in Korea and overseas stops in Shanghai, Taiwan, and Japan. This exciting two-disc concert release is a live recording of their February 2010 encore concert at Seoul’s Olympic Park Fencing Stadium. Other than performing hits like Gee, Genie, Chocolate Love, and Baby Baby, the girls also prepared special performances and solo stages, including Soo Young’s Santa Baby, Tae Yeon’s Hush Hush, Sunny’s Sunny, Yuri’s 1, 2 Step, Yoon A’s “Introduce Me a Good Man”, Jessica and Tiffany’s duet Caramel Coffee, Seo Hyun’s Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and Hyo Yeon’s dance special. Kim Jun Soo Musical Concert : Levay With Friends

Kim Jun Su dispelled the theater world’s doubts against idols when he starred in the hit musical Mozart! in early 2010, a performance that garnered praise across the board and won him a Best Newcomer Award. Jun Su took to the stage again in October 2010 for a concert series in which he performed highlights from Mozart! andElizabeth, another musical by Sylvester Levay that will open in Korea in 2012. The legendary Grammy-winning composer was so impressed by Jun Su’s performance inMozart!, he especially invited the star to headline the special musical showcase. Jun Su stepped up to the challenge and delivered four spectacular shows at Seoul’s Olympic Gymnastics Stadium. The show, whose tickets sold out within 20 minutes, now comes to DVD. The concert features Mozart! and Elizabeth highlights as well as special stages.

Midnight Sun Musical (eng subs)

KPOP girl group SNSD member, Taeyeon, will make her musical theater debut playing the lead role of Kaoru in ‘Midnight Sun,’ according to JoongAngDaily. This musical is an adaptation of a Japanese novel by Aya Denkawa, which were hits as a drama and movie in Japan. The story follows the romance of a boy surfer and girl songwriter named Kaoru. These two are in love but Kaoru is unable to go outside when the sun is shining due to a rare disease called Xeroderma Pigmentosum. ‘Midnight Sun’.

DownTown! Batsu Games No laughing (Japanese Variety Show eng subs)

The “No Laughing” Batsu Game itself (broadcast annually during the New Year’s Holiday) was first introduced in 2003. The premise of each “No Laughing”-punishment game is, the losing members of the cast have to endure many compromising, absurd, generally ridiculous situations for a long period of time (up to 24-hours, thus far) but must refrain from laughing at any of them. Whenever someone does laugh, and he is caught by A Watcher, the announcer of the game will declare that person as having just become “out” (アウト or a-u-to in Katakana); immediately afterwards, the appropriate number of “hang-men” will come out to mete the rule breaker’s punishment. (To date, this has been executed via single strikes on the buttocks {or somewhere in that area} with a weapon — one which does not change mid-game.)

To keep the Gaki no Tsukai Guys on their toes, there have been occasions where other conditions besides laughing had been set that could make them out, if fulfilled; also, the “victors” of the prelim-trial (if there are any) can make appearances during games to wreak further mischief and potentially cause even more discomfort to the losers.

During each show they will invite guests as judges and there are also some regular judges in the show. The judges will decide who would stay to compete last week challenger and only two different performers can stay. X-Man (Hangul: X맨) was a popular South Korean game show which ran from November 8, 2003 to April 8, 2007 on SBS. Its popularity peaked in 2004, but a decline in ratings led to its cancellation. It was hosted by Yu Jae-seok (MC Yu/MC유), Kang Ho-dong, Kim Jae-dong, who was later replaced by Gong Hyung-jin, Park Kyung-lim, and Lee Hyuk-jae; only the first two were on the program since its inception.

Each episode was divided into two parts, airing in consecutive weeks. The various celebrities were divided into two teams, with one led by Kang (Kang Team) and the second by the other main MC (initially Kim Jae-dong, then Gong Hyung-jin, then Park Kyung-lim, then finally Lee Hyuk-Jae). Yu Jae-seok served as the show’s mediator and main MC. At the start of each episode, one celebrity would be chosen by the producer to be the X-Man, whose main mission was to disrupt teamwork in his or her team and purposely throw challenges while keeping his or her identity a secret. Winning teams of each mission would be awarded ₩1 million .

After all the missions, the guests then voted on who they think is the X-Man. The celebrity participant who was chosen was then digitally “fingerprinted” to see if the others chose correctly. If the others chose correctly, any money earned by the teams was donated to charity, under the names of the various guests. If they failed to find the X-Man, the X-Man was considered to have succeeded and the money donated to charity was given under the X-Man’s name.

Star Golden Bell (Hangul:스타골든벨) is a South Korean variety show broadcast on KBS. In addition to the main MC, Jun Hyun-Moo (전현무), there are two additional hosts, Kim Je-dong (김제동) and Lee Chae-young (이채영), who are either in charge of administering games or are challengers competing against the celebrity contestants. Star features 5 lines of 4 people each (the lines named after each Korean character) that have various celebrities from music, film, television, and musicals. The last line (“Bell”) contains regularly appearing celebrities. A popular show, it occasionally enters the Korean top 20 chart. The show consists of mini-games, which have certain prize amounts. HAPPY TOGETHER SEASON 3 (eng subs)

Season 3 which was known as Happy Together: Let’s Go To School (해피투게더 학교가자), where the 4 MC’s dressed as females (except for Shin Bong-sun, who is a female), and participated in school-themed games, and the corner from Season 1, where the MC’s would play against students in a quiz for a scholarship. This began on July 5, 2007. These proved to be unpopular and were all scraped in 3 weeks. Now, the show is simply known as Happy Together Season 3 which the corners areChallenge! Memorize Song, and That’s You! (그건 너!). These 2 corners proved to be popular, and ratings have gone back to the usual norm. That’s You! has been replaced by What is that! (이건 뭐!, in which guests bring an item they cherish) andDon’t Laugh in the Sauna joined the 2 remaining corners that take place in a sauna. In early 2009, Challenge! Memorize Song was removed to save time.
